Holland MotoGP

The first Dutch Motorcycle TT was organised in 1925 and has been held ever since, expect during WW2. It is the only circuit which has held a round of the motorcycle world championship since its inception in 1949. Until 1954 the TT was held on public roads over a course of about 14 km, then in 1955 a closed road course was built, utilising a small part of the former course on the start/finish straight. The track was shortened again to its present length in 1984 and widened in 1989.

Always packed during the Motorcycle TT, the circuit is a favorite for spectators and riders alike. The track consists of 16 corners and has huge grass run-off areas, though gravel traps have now also started to appear.

Apart from the Grandstands the circuit is fully surrounded by earth banks for spectators, which provide excellent viewing. The circuit can accommodate over 150,000 spectators. This Motorcycle TT is traditionaly held on Saturday, just as the new venue of Qatar.
